The MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team (SEVT) was started over 30 years ago as the first of its kind in the country. Since then, it has evolved over the years as a unique group of its own, allowing students to extend  their education far beyond the classroom. Members come from multiple majors and get an intense experience as they undergo a real world engineering challenges everyday. Because the team is student run, members also gain invaluable business and project management skills. As such, SEVT does what few other experiences can - it allows college students to have full control over an incredible project.

The MIT Solar Electric Vehicle Team sets its goals beyond just winning races. The team is dedicated to promoting clean energy and alternatively powered vehicles. Members participate in seminars, lectures, museum displays, conferences dedicated to alternative energy, and numerous Earth Day and ecological fairs. Community outreach is incredibly important to us and we never hesitate to educate more people about our mission.
